 “Institutional mechanism to help promote knowledge driven and technology based enterprises”

  • Overview:

Entrepreneurship awareness and development is the need of time. Where there is continuous stress on creating the employment through “Self Employment”, the role of Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) in the institution holds an important position. JDIET has an active EDC cell, which has been consistently working as a platform for the aspirant entrepreneurs through various awareness activities and programmes. The cell has well organized structure and established infrastructure to nourish the budding entrepreneur technocrats mind.

  • Objectives:
  • To provide a platform for entrepreneurship awareness and development through various entrepreneurship awareness and development activities for budding technocrats.
  • To provide motivation for entrepreneurship to technical manpower as well as self-employment by utilizing various beneficial schemes provided by Government of India.
  • To facilitate and extend various informational services related to promotion of entrepreneurship.
  • To interlink the support system, academic institutions and R&D organizations to incubate entrepreneurship.
  • To catalyze development of knowledge-based enterprises and promote employment opportunities in the innovative areas.
  • To create and promote Entrepreneurial culture in the Institution by extending motivation to start-up ideas.
  • To facilitate better linkages between the parent institution, industries and R&D institutions in the region and other related organizations engaged in promoting Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) including NGOs and other voluntary organizations.

 

  • Functions of EDC Cell:

The cell is continuously striving toward meeting its objectives. The following functions have been carried out by the cell

  • Platform of activities: The cell has been organizing Entrepreneurship Awareness Camps, Entrepreneurship Development Programmes and seminars for the aspirants.
  • Professional symbiotic relations: The MOU is signed between JDIET and MCED, Yavatmal for Entrepreneurship development activities.
  • Support system and Facilitator: Effort are being taken to extend guidance and assistance to prospective entrepreneurs on various aspects such as preparing project reports, project approvals, loans and facilities from agencies of support system.
  • Interface system: The cell has arranged interaction with entrepreneurs and created a mentorship scheme for student entrepreneurs.
  • Training: We are working towards to make our institute a Technical Centre for training on  identifying business opportunities, processes, technologies and market. The cell is working to conduct skill development and training programmes leading to self employment.
  • Linkage with Government agencies:We are interacting with various Central and State Government agencies for Science & Technology based entrepreneurship development.

  • 3 Days Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp (EAC) by Maharashtra Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (MCED) Yavatmal in association with EDC Cell,JDIET Yavatmal

Registration count: 136 students from various departments of JDIET.
